Dear Barney,

Oh how I loathe you! Before Riah was born the hubby and I had a meeting and firmly agreed that we would not allow you in our house. But alas came the days of early morning wakenings of toddlerhood, and you were right there ready to bring your presence in our lives. In my sleep deprived state I let my guard down and let her watch your show just a few times to buy a few more minutes of precious sleep. That is when the addiction began.Then it continued with the time that your DVD was on sale at Target for $5, and the hubby couldnt resist those pleading big blue eyes. Now I daily get brought the DVD case, and get commanded "up, up, up" until I get up from the couch and put you on the television. You amuse her with your singing and dancing and magical tricks. She watches you and laughs, and hops, and dances for 30 minutes until you sing your well known song. Then she waves goodbye to you as the credits roll. And after that she starts to cry, and frantically signs "more, more, more". If I refuse there is one unhappy toddler, but I give in there are 2 unhappy parents. So I just beg of you, please make your stay at the Mock residence a short one. Thank you.

So it has been FOREVER since I updated this thing, oops. I am not sure anyone even looks here but I thought I would add some pics just in case. Mariah has gotten so big recently. She is crawling fast everywhere and starting to walk a little. She can walk she just gets scared. She walks a lot outside when she is playing in her pool. She is also a great eater. She loves fruit and macaroni and cheese. I think she would eat all day long if given the opportunity. So here are some update pics of Mariah.

We are all so busy but doing great. I find out about nursing school in 2 weeks! Wish me luck. Mariah is growing like a weed. She is such a happy baby now. The other day as I was putting her to bed I realized, she didnt cry the entire day! She is so fun. Smiling at everyone and everything. And she has these great big belly laughs that make you laugh. At her doctors appointment 2 weeks ago she weight 12lbs 10oz, but she just had a growth spurt so I think she is around 14lbs. On Saturday we are going to the pumpkin patch so that should be fun. I guess I am averaging updating only once a month, oops. So I am back at work full time now. I really love my job and missed it. It was hard going back but Rya is doing so well, I think it is a bigger adjustment for me. Rya is staying with my mom one day I work and then Connie, my sister in law's mother in law (try to figure that one out,lol) But she is like a 3rd grandma to Mariah. She loves Gabby my niece and gets to spend the whole day with her too. Twelve hour shift are long but it is nice being home with my baby 4 or 5 days a week. it will be more difficult come January when I go back to school but it's gotta be done. I find out next month which program I got into. I am praying it is the part time program so I will still be able to work a little and have enough time home with Mariah. Daniel just got a copy of the CD he recorded in Nashville a couple months ago and it sounds AWESOME. So we are excited about that. Mariah gets her 4 month shots and well baby check up in a little over a week so I will update then. So here are a few recent pics for your viewing pleasure.

Back from vacation

So we are finally home. The last 2 days of traveling were exhausting! Mariah was such a trooper this week. She was so happy almost all the time, she must really enjoy vacations. She was so good on our flight to New Orleans. She was awake and happy then ate, and slept the rest of the way. Everyone on the plane said they didnt even know there was a baby with us. HOWEVER, on the flight home she screamed just about the entire flight. It was NOT fun. I think my poor baby was having earaches. She was squeezing my fingers so hard on the way up and the way down. It was so sad. Anyways here are some of my favorite pics from vacation:

Today we went to the mall with Aunt Bekah and cousin Gabby. It was a lot of fun. While we were there I found a pair of sunglasses for 85 cents for Mariah. They are sooo cute. Daniel is also doing well in Nashville. They recorded 4 songs today and were in the studio from 10AM to 11PM so they were quite busy! He has 4 more days there and a lot of work ahead of him. Long time no post

Boy it has been a long time since I posted! Time is starting to go by really fast. I start working again in 2 weeks which I have mixed feelings about. I LOVE my job and am excited to go back but I know I am going to miss Mariah SOOOO much! I work 12 hour shifts so it will be a long day leaving the house at 6:15 and not getting home till 8:15 at night. But luckily I will only work 2 or 3 days a week so I get to be home with my sweet girl 4 or 5 days. Daniel also goes back to teaching the same day I do so our awesome summer as a new family is almost over, I want to cry thinking about that. We have had such a wonderful time together I know I will never forget it. Speaking of Daniel he is in Nashville recording a CD with a real producer. It is for a new Christian Music Artist. Mariah and I dropped him off at the airport yesterday afternoon. He was so excited it was sooo cute! I know it is dream to be a full time musician so we will see where this takes him. So for 5 days it is just Me and Mariah. Last week we also went to Mariah's 2 month appointment. She got her 2 month shots but did well. It didnt even seem to affect her, no fever or anything! She was 10lb 10oz, and I forget the height. But for both she is in the 50%. And her head is still big in the %90,lol. Luckily her big head isnt that noticeable! (yes I will always can him Tommy no matter how old we get, even though he prefers tom)

Father's Day and Mariah's dedication

We had a wonderful father's day yesterday. Mariah woke up at 6 am and after a quick feed we snuck out to the grocery store to get food to make Daddy breakfast in bed. We made him crepes with strawberries, blueberries and whip cream with turkey sausage on the side and a vanilla double shot from the Starbucks in the grocery store. Daniel was very surprised and enjoyed his breakfast very much. He also got a card from Mariah. She helped me pick it out at Target. I held up two cards and bought the one that she looked at longer. It was a cute bright colored card with a big cartoon animal on it. We gave daddy concert tickets for father' day. Then we went to church and we dedicated Mariah. It is very similar to a baptism, except they put annointing oil on the baby instead of water because we baptize at a later age in our church. It was very special and we had our whole family up on stage with us. Mariah also wore a very cute outfit, it was a little big on her but she looked very cute! Then we went to lunch at TGI fridays to celebrate her dedication and Father's day. I was sooo tired so my parents offered to take her for the afternoon so we could take a nap because Daniel had a late gig last night. It was wonderful getting a 2 hour nap, and Grammy and Grandpa enjoyed having Mariah over. After we picked Mariah up we went out to dinner with Daniel's dads side of the family. I feel like all we did we eat yesterday,lol! SHe slept through the whole meal because she was awake a lot in the afternoon. But she did get her first balloon animal. It was elmo (even though it didnt look a lot like elmo). But all in all it was a great day. Here are a bunch of pictures from yesterday and this past week.

3 weeks old!

I havent posted in a while...that's what having a newborn does to you I guess. Mariah is doing well. She is almost 8 1/2 pounds already! Soon we will be using size 1 diapers and 0-3 month clothes instead of newborn. My little girl is growing fast. She is such a happy baby. It is nice because we all are starting to fall into a routine, and she is getting more on a schedule. At night she falls asleep at 8:30. Wakes up at 11:30, 3, and 6:30, so I am managing to get some sleep. I try to take a nap a few times a week which helps. We also had some problems with a gassy tummy this week but discovered something wonderful called gripe water. It is all natural and soothes her stomach so well! It is amazing. Here is a funny story from this week for you all to read: Yesterday I was watching my 2 year old niece Gabby, and we were all watching Dumbo and eating popcorn when I turned around to get my water from the kitchen and I look and Gabby put a piece of popcorn in Mariah's mouth. Mariah had these wide eyes and funny look on her face like what the heck is this? Daniel and I have decided to wait atleast 3 years before our next one now... 2 year olds and a newborn is exhausting! Mariah got her first pictures taken today and Portrait Innovations. At first she was fussy and sleepy and we thought that we werent going to be able to get any good pictures. But then we fed her and she was much better. Here are some of the great pictures we got:

First Pediatrician appointment

Mariah had her first pediatrician appointment today. She did wonderful. I really love her pediatrician. My sister in law recommended him and he is wonderful! She left the hospital at 7lbs 2oz and is up to 7lbs 5 oz. This time next week hopefully she will be at her birthweight of 7lbs 12oz. She is also a little jaundice but not too much to treat. She falls in the 50th% for length and weight and 75th% for head circumference. No wonder she was breech, her head was just too big. Her daddy says it is for all those brains she is going to have! She also decided to be nocturnal last night and kept mommy up for 3 hours in the middle of the night. Not crying or anything just awake and looking around and making those little baby noises. Those cute little grunts! Not as cute at 3:30 am, but if baby is up mommy is up. She is sleeping a lot today so we will see what happens tonight. I think I have a nocturnal child,lol.

I cant believe our little peanut is 5 days old already. She is such a good baby! She eats and sleeps, and when she is awake (which is rare at this point) she looks around content as could be! Mariah May Mock arrived May 15th at 2:10pm Arizona time via c-section. I was very nervous about the C-section, but all went well and it was a lot better then I thought it would be. We are so in love with our little girl! She is the most beautiful thing we have ever seen. Daniel is doing an awesome job being a dad and took to it naturally. Here are some pictures:

So it still looks like 12 days from today we will be meeting our little girl! She is still breech and seems to be stuck in that position so we are tenatively going ahead with the c-section. So on May 15th at around 1:30pm Arizona time she will enter the world. I have an ultrasound scheduled for this Tuesday to double check her position, so we will know for sure by Tuesday afternoon. That is about all that is going on in the Mock Family. Oh I almost forgot, Daniel is graduating on Thursday from ASU with his Masters in Music Education. He has worked really hard for the past 2 years and we are all very proud of him. Also, on Monday May 5th is his 28th birthday, and next week he has his final 2 band concerts (teaching). So we are pretty busy around here!

And lastly here is my belly pic at 37 weeks pregnant. I am getting pretty big! Good thing I dont have too much longer to grow,lol.

Breech Baby

Yesterday I had a doctors appointment and ultrasound. It was fun seeing Mariah. She is very cute with chubby cheeks and big lips. We didnt get any good pictures from the ultrasound though. But Mariah is being a stubborn baby and she is breech! She is what they call Frank Breech which means that her head and feet are up by my ribs and her bottom is down in my pelvis. The doctor does not think that she will turn due to her size (almost 6lbs already!) and her position. So I have a c-section scheduled for May 15th! Only 3 weeks from tomorrow. We are getting very excited, and cant believe it is so close. She may turn on her own and so we can cancel the C-section, but I am not getting my hopes up! So only 22 days till I meet my beautiful daughter!

Bad Week!

In the middle of the night on Saturday I woke up with the stomach flu! By the morning I was feeling terrible and could not even keep a sip of water down. So we called my doctor and Daniel took me to the hospital. When we got there they hooked me up to the monitors and gave me an IV. I am glad we went because I started having a lot of contractions since I was so dehydrated. So they gave me a shot of terbutaline to stop them. It made me really shakey, but it did its job. Daniel was scared she was going to try to make her appearance that day! We were there for a few hours until they got me rehydrated, and then I got to go home. Well by Monday night I was feeling horrible and getting really bad stomach pains. I couldnt tell if they were contractions or pains from being sick, and I was running a fever, and still getting sick so it was back to the hospital. My fever was making the baby's heartbeat really high (I was roasting her in there!) so they gave me a lot of fluids and some tylenol to lower my fever. Luckily it went away, but then I started having more contractions and my stomach was killing me! So they decided to keep me overnight to watch me and make sure I didnt have appendicitis or chorio (an infection of the placenta). It turns out that I have something called the Rota virus, which is like a bad stomach flu that lasts for 5-7 days! YUCK! I got to go home Tuesday night, and Mariah is doing good though it all. I am starting to feel better, and am hoping in a few days I will feel all better. Thanks to everyone who kept us in their thoughts and prayers, I know they helped us!

I had a wonderful baby shower this past Saturday at our church Scottsdale Worship Center. Thank you so much for all that attended! I was so blessed with many great presents and great words of wisdom. My New Blog

Hello all friends and family. I have decided to start this blog so we can keep everyone updated on the soon to be arrival of our little girl Mariah May Mock. I will try to update atleast weekly so you can all see how much she is growing, and just keep updated with what is going on in our lives. So anyways today I am 32 weeks and 2 days pregnant. Only 54 days left until my due date. I can not believe it. For those of you that have not seen us for a while here is a picture of me from Easter 31 weeks pregnant.
